Jaw Pain

THE TMJ - CERVICAL SPINE CONNECTION

Jaw Pain

TMD or jaw pain occurs when the mandible is not well aligned or synchronized causing aches when chewing, talking, swallowing or opening the mouth. This is due to excessive tension in the muscles that surround the TM joint. This muscular tension can be caused by cervical misalignments (but is also related to emotional stress).
Associated symptoms can be: migraines, neck pain and stiffness, whiplash, dizziness, among others.
