Seizures are produced when the nerve cells of the encephalon produce an abnormal electrical discharge that interrupts temporally the normal electric function of the encephalon.

 

Different types of seizures exist and can have a variety of causes: traumatic birth, traumas to the head, neurological dysfunctions, etc.
